Thankfully, Capcom upload the soundtracks of many of their games to Spotify – and Street Fighter 6 should be no exception. Many will want to listen to the game’s extensive soundtrack even when they’re not playing. This effort will no doubt come across to players after they experience Street Fighter 6 for the first time. Lead composer Yoshiya Terayama said, “When it comes to the music, we incorporate the culture and art of each country we represent.” He explained, “We have created music based on the concept of what it would be like if each of the characters appeared on the streets.” The game’s musical score is also inspired by the international flavour of the fighters in the game. We put a lot of effort into how it sounds.” We are taking on new challenges while honouring that foundation. Producer Shuhei Matsumoto told Spin, “Street Fighter 6 is very respectful of past works, such as the original Street Fighter and Street Fighter 2. To do this, the game features plenty of hip-hop songs to go with its new western art-style. The Street Fighter 6 soundtrack aims to modernise the series while honouring its legacy. Aside from the gameplay, the Street Fighter 6 soundtrack is one of the game’s most distinctive features. IGN called it the “most feature-rich” Street Fighter to date and said its “new mechanics revitalize the one-on-one fighting formula”. The game has been hailed as one of the best in the series. Street Fighter 6 launches on 2 June and it has received a fantastic reception from critics.
